2010 S.E.O.L.T.T. TOURNAMENT RULES

1.RULES INTERPRETATION: In the event of a rules violation the Tournament Director or Assistant may impose such sanctions as he deems appropriate, including, without limitation, disqualification, forfeiture of prizes and prohibition from participation in subsequent tournaments. The TD shall have the exclusive right to interpret these rules and may, without prior notice, institute rules changes, as deemed advisable for the good of the field.
2.ENTRY / PARTICIPATION / REGISTRATION: This Trail is based on a team entry format with the original two signers being considered a permanent team for the duration of the tournament season. The Entry Fee shall be $100 per event if paid by the Wednesday evening prior the tournament. Entries will be accepted at-site on the morning of the event, however, THERE WILL BE A $10 LATE FEE ACCESSED. General event registration opens two-hours prior to the published start time, closing one-half hour prior to the designated starting time.
3.STARTING POSITION / DOUBLE-DRAW: Teams who pay their entry fee/s for the entire regular season, prior to the first tournament, in the amount of $700, shall be entitled to double-draw status for start position at each event. Teams that pay their entry fee no latter than the Wednesday evening prior to the event will draw for starting position the morning of the event. Teams paying the morning of the event will receive their start number based on a first come first served basis.
4.MEMBERSHIP FEE: All teams participating in these events will be responsible for an annual fee in the amount of $75.  Alternate/s will be accessed $25, due and payable prior to the first event.
5.ALTERNATES: Each team shall be allowed the use of no more than two (2) Alternates per season. Once used/named no other substitutions will be allowed. If an Alternate is to be used for an Event, he or she must come to the registration table the day of the event; identify themselves and whom they are fishing for (team and member name), as well as pay/showing proof of payment of an Alternate Membership Fee ($25). Regular team members, and an Alternate, shall be allowed to fish single; however, both Alternates cannot fish in place of both regular team members, nor will an Alternate be allowed to fish the last event in place of a regular Team member. ALTERNATES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO FISH THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
6.LIABILITY WAVIER: By their participation, team member/s and alternate/s agrees to indemnify this Trail against any and all liability as a condition of fishing in this Trail and shall hold as harmless all parties, participants thereto.
7.INSURANCE: As a condition of fishing, each boater shall carry a minimum of $100,000 liability insurance on any vessel used in these events.
8.SCORING/POINTS ACCUMULATION:  The Trail’s “point system” is based on a Place Plus Weight system.  1st Place will receive 120 points plus the weight of the catch.   2nd Place will receive 110 points plus the weight of the catch.  3rd Place will receive 105 points plus the weigh of the catch.  4th Place will receive 100 Points plus the weight of the catch.   5th Place 99, 6th Place 98 etc., on down until all teams who’ve caught fish have been Place/Weight pointed.  Remaining teams will receive half the points awarded to the last team that had weighed fish and subsequently placed.
9.BAG/TIES/LATE CHECK-INS: The limit shall be five (5) fish per team (5 if fishing single). Ties will be broken as follows; 1st the number of fish weighed, 2nd the biggest bass of the bag and 3rd a coin toss.
10.DEAD/SHORT FISH: Each dead fish shall incur an eight (8) ounce penalty. Short fish shall incur a one (1) pound penalty.  A courtesy board will be provided at each event.
11.SPORTMANSHIP: Any infraction of the following fundamental sporting principles shall be cause for disqualification; use of alcohol or drugs, coarse or foul language, any act, which reflects unfavorably upon efforts to promote conservation and clean waters and courtesy to ALL other users of the resource. Arguing or failure to settle differences in a gentlemanly manner shall result in immediate sanctions, as will failure to treat others in a manner in which YOU would expect to be treated.
12.SAFETY/RULES GENERALLY: Boating safety must be observed at all times during competition. A US Coast Guard approved chest type life preserver (PDF) Type III or higher, must be worn and properly fastened any time the combustible engine is operative and the kill switch must be attached to the driver with a lanyard no longer than (48) inches.   Polygraph tests may be ad-ministered to any competitors as the TD deems fit.
13.NO WAKE/50 YARD RULE: obey all no wake zones. No fishing within 50 yards of another competitor’s boat which was first anchored/secured in a fixed position with the trolling motor up and stowed.
14.TROLLING: As a method of angling is prohibited. Only one rod and reel may be utilized at any one time with the rod remaining in contact with and gripped by the angler’s hand at all times.
15.PROTESTS: Must be made as soon as practical either during the course of the tournament day, or immediately upon exiting the water, preferably in written form, however. Verbal protests will be allowed if followed in written form.  All protests must be lodged by the close of the scale at the weigh-in.
16. TOURNAMENT STANDINGS / RESULTS: It is the intention of this Trail to provide all com-munications, postings, etc. through the use of the Internet. These will be sent as soon as practical via email to those anglers who have provided email addresses at the time of sign up. Members without such capabilities should notify the TD who may make special mail arrangements.
17.PAYBACKS/CHAMPIONSHIP: This trail is a 100% Payback trail with disbursement of the entry based on a 70/30% (payout/classic setback) with a minimum of a three (3) places paid out at each event. The setback fund will be paid out at the Classic Championship.
18.POINTS CHAMPIONS: At the conclusion of the last regular season event, the Top Team in the Points Standings will be named the Team Points Champions for the ensuing year and will fish for free in the upcoming year’s seven (7) regular season events. This does not include membership and side pots.
19.CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION AND   WILD-CARDS: Any team that has won one of the seven regular events AND WHO HAVE FISHED A MINIMUM OF SIX EVENTS, will automatically qualify for the Championship, FREE OF AN ENTRY FEE. If you fish 6 of the 7 regular season events you will auto qualify for the championship. Then it goes to the 45% if that is above the teams that fish 6 out of 7. There are no wild cards.
20.EXPENSES:  This trail will be administered solely through the use of memberships and fee’s!  ALL event entries, including Classic entry fees, will be paid out/back.
21.ALL BOATS MUST BE IN THE WATER, READY TO GO, AT LEAST ½ HOUR PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED START OF THE EVENT.
22.START/END TIMES:  Can be altered due to other tournaments on the water, weather, etc.
23.OFF LIMITS: There are no off-limit periods prior to each event. Lake rules apply to each event and consist of such things as; spillways, gas pumps, locks, no-wake zones, hazard areas, etc. These will be discussed and enforced at each even
